Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) 👙 "It's awesome, totally awesome!"

This week on New Release … wasteoids Ashley, Derrick, and Drew peep the high school movie that taught high movies how to be cool. I’m sure you remember Fast Times for Spicoli, the pool scene, or Damone’s terrible rules of seduction … but there’s way more to it than that. It’s a coming of age story that genuinely cares about the emotional journey Jennifer Jason Leigh’s character is on. There’s no shaming or stigmatizing the ladies in this movie for being curious about sex. God forbid. And how refreshing it is to go back 40 years and find a teen movie that feels ahead of its time. Kick back, pop a brewski or twoski, and chomp down on all the tasty waves Ridgemont High has to offer.
